The platform allows you to see both member-generated discussions and news in one setting. From here, you can participate in discussions about relevant topics in your industry – comment, “like,” and join the conversation! Once members of your group know you provide quality, relevant content, you can direct them to your website, then have them sign up for your mailing list.
Once you have a lot of connections, it’s time to start your own group! You can send out invitations and manage your own group targeted at whatever topic you’d like!
This is a great way to get even more industry connections by diversifying your networks through other social networking sites through Invite Me Lists. There are Invite Me Lists for LinkedIn, Google+, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and many more. You can add yourself to any of those lists and then be invited by other members to connect.
Let your LinkedIn connections know about your webinars and other events that are relevant to the industry. The more useful information you put out there, the more people will want to connect with you and join your contact list.
